Why the distributor and spare parts matter for your pool

When you buy a pool or hot tub, you are not just buying a product but also future service. The pump, filter, cover, salt chlorinator or electronics will eventually need a spare part. That is why it makes sense to ask a company which distributors it works with and how quickly it can handle a warranty claim or repair.

  • Ask about the availability of common spare parts.
  • Check who holds the warranty and who communicates with the manufacturer.
  • For lesser-known brands, insist on a clear service path.

For parts imported exclusively from abroad, expect a longer delivery time even outside the season, and in summer the wait can stretch to weeks. It is therefore worth asking whether the distributor keeps a local stock of common consumable parts (seals, bearings, sensors) or orders each piece individually. For technology older than five years, also check whether the manufacturer still produces the parts.

For technology bought from a foreign online shop with no local representation, expect that a warranty claim may take longer and that shipping a faulty part back can cost more than the part itself. A local distributor with a physical warehouse is therefore often better value, even at a slightly higher purchase price.
