A movable floor gives a pool more functions: swim lessons, rehabilitation, wellness, children’s use and sport. It brings the most benefit where a single pool needs to change during the day for different users. At the same time, it’s a technically demanding system that needs a clear service and safety regime.

The movable floor’s drive is usually hydraulic or mechanical on screws; each system has different space requirements below the pool and a different level of maintenance. Regular checks of the seals and anti-entrapment safety sensors are needed even outside routine technology servicing, since it’s a moving structural element in direct contact with users. Without trained staff, there’s a risk of both system damage and safety hazards.
Before installation, also have the procedure for a power outage during floor movement explained – the safety system should be able to lock the floor in its current position, not let it drop freely. Regular staff training is just as important as the technical maintenance of the system itself.
What parameters are realistically offered today
When comparing offers, it helps to know how far the technology has moved on. European suppliers of movable floors – for example, T&A’s AquaMove range, which took over the Belgian specialist Morgan Floor – now offer continuously adjustable depth and, in the top position, a walkable surface across the whole pool. According to manufacturer data summarised at the end of July 2026 by the trade newsletter poolbiz.eu, the system is supplied in two load capacities: the Comfort version up to 50 kg/m² as a normal walkable surface, and the Premium version up to 200 kg/m² with a mechanical lock, PLC control and remote monitoring. The declared range covers surfaces up to 100 m², for both skimmer and overflow pools.
The second figure worth asking about is insulation. For a closed platform, a U-value of up to 0.32 W/m²K is stated, which limits heat loss in heated and indoor pools. A closed floor also works similarly to a surface cover: it limits evaporation and the entry of debris, so temperature, pH and disinfection stay more stable and consumption of top-up water and chemicals drops. From a construction standpoint, it matters that the system works on the principle of water buoyancy and is anchored only into the floor, without drilling into the walls.
These are values declared by the manufacturer for the European market, not a measured average of what’s on offer in the Czech Republic. Treat them as a reference benchmark for a specific quote: if a supplier states neither the load capacity in kg/m² nor the U-value of the closed platform, that fact alone is informative.
