The purchase price is only the first part of the decision. Before buying a pool or hot tub, calculate running costs: heating, filtration, water, chemicals, service, covers, winterisation and normal replacement parts.
What belongs in the budget
- electricity for pumps, heating, lighting and automation,
- water for filling, filter backwash and partial changes,
- sanitizer, pH correction, alkalinity and testing,
- filter cleaning, service checks and seasonal work,
- thermal cover, pool cover or enclosure,
- spare parts such as seals, cartridges, UV lamps, sensors or pumps.
The common mistake
Buyers compare equipment price but ignore insulation, cover efficiency, filtration cycles, spare-part costs and service access. A cheaper solution can be more expensive to operate.
